The Battery Pack Seawater Immersion Test Machine is designed to evaluate the sealing performance, corrosion resistance, and electrical safety of battery packs and modules when immersed in seawater or simulated saltwater environments. It simulates real-world scenarios such as flooding, wading, or marine exposure that electric vehicles (EVs) may encounter, helping to verify that the battery system maintains insulation integrity, prevents electrolyte leakage, and avoids short circuits or thermal runaway after immersion.
Test Procedure
- Test Object: Battery pack or system.
- At room temperature, the DUT (Device Under Test) is connected to the vehicle wiring harness in its actual on-vehicle assembly state. Then it is placed in a 3.5% NaCl solution (by mass fraction, simulating seawater composition) for 2 hours. The water depth must be sufficient to fully submerge the DUT. Observe for 2 hours.
- Requirement: The battery pack or system shall not exhibit fire, explosion, or similar hazards.
