5V Spinel cathode (Lithium manganese nickel oxide LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4) is a cathode material that needs to be charged at a high voltage near 5V. It has a high discharge plateau, and thus, this material has a higher energy density compared to lithium cobalt oxide and lithium iron phosphate. Different from the Lithium Manganese Oxide, which has a voltage plateau of 4.0V, its voltage plateau is around 4.7V vs. Lithium.
