Custom LiPF6 Electrolyte for Lithium-ion Battery Research
We make the custom electrolyte solution based on the formula customers provided. The blending is performed in a dry room with low moisture to confirm that moisture and acid are well controlled. The acid and moisture content are tested before packaging.
Apart from the electrolyte formula provided by customers, we have some regular electrolyte formula for high power (high rate capability) cell, LiMn2O4 spinel cell, Si-C anode cell, Hi-nickel cathode cell. Contact our electrolyte expert for more information.
The composition can be as follows:
- Electrolyte salt: LiPF6, LiBF4, LiBOB, LiDFOB (from 0.1% ~ 16% by weight);
- High purity solvent (99.9%+, with moisture<20ppm): EC, PC, EMC, DMC, DEC, EA (any ratio by weight/volume);
- Additive: a combination of VC, FEC, 1, 3-PS, VEC, DTD and others.
The specifications may vary depends on the composition of the electrolyte, but in most case when regular electrolyte additives are use, the following standard will be met.
- Moisture <20 ppm
- Acid <50 ppm
- Chromaticity <50 Hazen

Landt Instruments partners with leading suppliers of Lithium-ion Battery Electrolyte manufacturers in China to provide the fresh LIB electrolyte samples. Most of the products are freshly blended and packaged. The raw materials are also used for xEV battery manufacturing. Typical lead time is 2 weeks and delivery takes about a week for North America customers. International shipping is available while the delivery date may vary. The estimated delivery date will be posted when the order is confirmed.
This electrolyte solution or lithium salt sample is packaged in fluorinated HDPE/aluminum bottles with moisture strictly controlled (less than 20 ppm for electrolyte). The bottle is tightly closed and sealed with an aluminum bag. Please handle it in an inert and moisture-free glove box or dry room. Avoid from high-temperature heating or igniting. Store in a glove box or dry room. LIB electrolyte should be stored in a PE or Teflon (PTFE) sample bottle but not a glass bottle.
Lithium electrolyte materials are very sensitive even sealed and stored in an inert atmosphere. We suggest replacing the electrolyte with fresh samples every 6 months.
